NOSPAM / Postini service overview:

  1. Your email passes through Postini's automated filters that detect suspected junk email and viruses, based on your personal preferences. For example, you can have mail leniently or aggressively blocked based on subject matter, including "get-rich-quick" and "adult" themes.
  2. Blatant spam is removed automatically, while suspicious email is directed to your personal, web-based, password-protected Message Center (it does not arrive at your computer's in-box). Think of this as a quarantine area. In your Message Center you can read the quarantined email online, delete it, or deliver (forward) it to your in-box.
  3. Initially you should visit your Postini Message Center often because the service "remembers and learns" from your interaction with it.
  4. NOSPAM/Postini lets you "block" senders; meaning, email from them will always be filtered. Or you can "approve" senders; meaning, their email will always be delivered.
  5. This service is completely controlled by you.

NOSPAM Tips:

  • Make sure that every address you get spam at is filtered
  • Once set up, and you've watched your Message Center for a few days you should not need to check it frequently. NOSPAM traps very few "good" emails!
  • You do not need to actively remove spam/virus emails from your Message Center - the system will retain messages for two weeks then remove automatically.
